Weeknight Lasagna

  • 2 pounds of ground beef (if you like less beef…one pound will work just fine)
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 jars of your favorite spaghetti sauce (homemade works too…but it is a weeknight so don’t worry jarred) 
  • 1 box of oven ready lasagna noodles (the kind you don’t have to cook before you assemble)
  • 8 slices of smoked provolone cheese
  • 2 cups of Italian blend shredded cheese


    1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
    2. Brown ground beef and diced onion in a pot until cooked through. I also season mine with onion powder and granulated garlic. Totally optional.
    3. Add two jars of spaghetti sauce. Cook until heated through.
    4. Add cooking spay to prepare your casserole dish.
    5. Place a single layer of lasagna noodles on the bottom of the casserole dish and add half of the spaghetti sauce on top of the noodles
    6. Put all eight slices of provolone on top of the spaghetti sauce
    7. Place another single layer of lasagna noodles on top of the cheese
    8. Add the remaining spaghetti sauce
    9. Top with the Italian cheese blend. Unless if you don’t want it super cheesy.
    10. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
    11. Remove foil and cook another 5-10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and brown. Let sit 5 minutes before serving
